The Difference between Summer School and normal school.
Submitted by Arajuno Road Project on Sun, 18/10/2009 - 11:21My time at the Arajuno Rd Project straddled the weeks between summer school and regular school so I was fortunate enough to be able to spend time with the kids outside of the regular classroom routine and also participate in the planning and running of the English classes.
School Trip 2009
Submitted by Arajuno Road Project on Wed, 15/07/2009 - 02:14Our school term culminated in taking the children and most of the parents for a day trip to the botanical gardens and the water park of Puyo. Although it seemed a logistically impossible task made trickier by Ecuadorian organisation and the unpredicatble weather of the rainforest, the day was a great success and the children loved it.

Finally... we have buses running past the volunteer house, saves us the walk up the hill, no morning 1 but 1 to bring us back from school

We have had a week of glorious sunshine, making it truly feel like summer (yep even on the equator).

Kites are in fashion in the jungle at the moment. Surely we'll be able to have a better attempt than the last time we tried to made kites.

Summer school is into its 2nd week, and everyone is getting very creative. Lots of activities, games and crafts.
